Support for established Wichmann engines
Wichmann engines remain in service in ferries, workboats and commercial vessels where practical mechanical knowledge and parts planning are critical. Nauti Diesel can scope work around a defined fault, planned maintenance package, damaged major component or complete overhaul requirement.

Wichmann service scope
- Mechanical fault-finding and engine condition assessment
- Planned maintenance and major overhaul support
- Engine strip-down, inspection, measurement and controlled assembly
- Crankshaft, main bearing and connecting-rod work
- Piston, liner, cylinder-head and valve-gear inspection
- Fuel-system, timing, cooling and lubrication-system checks
- Damage assessment and specialist repair coordination
- Used, obsolete and difficult-to-source parts procurement
- Installation, pre-start checks and commissioning support
Relevant project experience
Project work includes removal of a broken crankshaft from the Wichmann main engine aboard a commercial vessel in Suva, Fiji. Major repair work is planned from inspection findings, measurements, access requirements, lifting arrangements and the availability of serviceable replacement components.
Information for an initial assessment
Provide the engine type and serial number, vessel details, operating hours, service history, symptoms or damage findings, location and required timing. Include photographs, measurements and previous inspection reports where available.
